Get your 9 To 5 Broadway tickets now for a great laughs on The Great White Way . This fantastically exciting show features songs you know plus new songs you won’t want to stop singing. Add a fabulous cast and a fun storyline, and you have a real winner!

The show is based on the original, 1980 hit movie of the same name with Dolly Parton singing her blockbuster hit song, “9 to 5.” The score for the show was written by Dolly and has her trademark country pop mixed with great, funny lyrics.

The story line has three smart, hardworking secretaries dealing with a chauvinistic male boss, and the antics and fun that arise when they decide to get even with him. Remember the 9 to 5 workdays? The show brings us back to a different time and a different workplace, where people really left the office at 5 pm and didn’t take their Blackberries with them. Eighties hair and makeup included!

The production features an all-star cast including the hottest director and choreographer. The book was written by Patricia Resnick, who co-wrote the original screenplay and keeps the plot close in line with the original story.

The cast stars Allison Janney, well known for her role on The West Wing for which she won 4 Emmy Awards. She has also appeared on Broadway and in film extensively, garnering several, major awards, and nominations. She plays the role originated by Lily Tomlin in the movie version. Her strong confidence is the foundation of the musical.

Dolly Parton’s role is now played by Megan Hilty, who has recently played the role of Glinda the Good Witch in the Broadway Musical Wicked. She plays Parton’s backwoods gal to perfection. And the role originally played by Jane Fonda is now played by Stephanie Block, who also just came from Wicked, as Elphaba. She emotes the freedom of an ex-wife who finds her calling later in life.

These 3 sassy women pull off a terrific show with great singing and lots of fun while they show their dreaded boss who’s really the boss.

The show is directed by Joe Mantello, the Broadway sensation whose directing credits include November, Three Days of Rain, The Odd Couple, Glengarry Glen Ross, Assassins (Tony Award), Wicked, Take Me Out (Tony Award), Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and A Man of No Importance among many others.

The choreographer is Andy Blankenbuehler, who won a 2008 Tony Award for his choreography in the Tony Award winning Best Musical In The Heights .
