A Moon for the Misbegotten Tickets
KEVIN SPACEY TAKES TO THE STAGE! This acclaimed London production transfers to Broadway and will premiere at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre this March. This comic drama about love and redemption stars two time Academy Award and Tony winner Kevin Spacey. A Moon for the Misbegotten was written in 1923 by Eugene O’Neill and like Spacey the two other leads, Eve Best and Colm Meaney, will reprise their critically acclaimed West End performances. This highly emotional play tells the story of Josie Hogan a domineering Irish woman with a ruined reputation. She lives with her conniving father, Phil, in a run down Connecticut farmhouse. On one moonlit night Josie is overcome by longing, grief and unrequited love as she reveals her true feelings for her fathers alcoholic landlord Jim Tyrone. The production has a strong character in Tyrone a third-rate actor whose dreams of making it big were ruined due to his drinking problem. Under the moon and fueled by much alcohol the two come together and reveal what they have been hiding from the rest of the world. The production was a London sensation that played for a limited sold out 112 performances, and set a record for the highest grossing show in the theaters history. This run will mark the fourth time the play has been on Broadway. It first debuted in 1957, but achieved much success in 1973 when Jason Robards, Collen Dewhurst and Ed Flanders took on the leads. It was also adapted into a television movie two years later with the three reprising their roles. The movie earned five Emmy nominations. The story is considered a sequel to another one of O’Neill’s plays; Long Days Journey Into Night in which the character of Tyrone is younger. Spacey has previously played the younger version of the character in 1986 opposite Jack Lemmon. He is familiar with the character and brings much depth to the role. Spacey, no stranger to the stage has won a Tony Award for his performance in Lost in Yonkers and was nominated for his work in The Iceman Cometh. He is also a two time Oscar winner for his performances in “American Beauty” and “The Usual Suspects”. Mr. Spacey is currently the Artistic Director of London’s Old Vic Theatre where A Moon for the Misbegotten closed in December. This masterpiece displays the unforgettable characters struggle with the deepest emotions of the heart over the course of one drunken moonlit night. It demonstrates what can happen when people reveal their souls to one another out of desperation and realize there can be no turning back. This production is a rare experience due to the previous success of the show and its Broadway transfer with the original London leads reprising their roles. The show is a limited engagement and is scheduled to close this June. The Average for A Moon For The Misbegotten tickets should be around 70.00 dollars with premium seating or sold out event reaching near 200.00 dollars. The Brooks Atkinson Theater has a seating capacity of 1044. To view all available A Moon For The Misbegotten Tickets | | | | Show Times
