Addams Family Musical Show Information for Broadway
THAT SPOOKY, KOOKY FAMILY COMES TO BROADWAY!They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky... and they're headed to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for previews on March 4, 2010. The Addams Family musical comes to Broadway with an official start date of April 8, 2010, and brings with it an all star-cast including two-time Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. This quirky, new musical brings the classic 1960's comedy to life using the beloved characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. This production promises to make you remember all that you loved about that bizarre family.
This originally clever story throws the odd family into circumstances that will change their lives as they know it forever. All the characters are featured in this one including Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Fester, Grandmama and Lurch. As the storm clouds gather over the Addams Family mansion, strange things begin to occur. Eighteen year old Wednesday is experiencing a sensation that surprises and disgusts her, she has caring feelings for another. Young Pugsley, jealous of his sister's new found love, begs her to keep torturing him, while mother Morticia, conflicted over her daughter’s leap into womanhood, fears being upstaged and discarded. All the while, father Gomez, oblivious as ever, would prefer everything and everyone remain as it is. But when outsiders come to dinner, the events of one night will change forever this famously macabre family. The musical may make you realize that this strange family might not be that different from your own.
This exciting musical has all the makings of a true Broadway success. In the roles of the infamous husband and wife team our Broadway favorites Lane and Neuwirth. Talk about casting genius.
