ARTHUR MILLER REVIVAL BRINGS BIG NAMES TO BROADWAY!

This Tony Award winning drama comes to the Schoenfeld Theatre on September 18, 2008 with an official start date of October 16, 2008. All My Sons, a post World War II drama, was inspired by a true story and stars several celebrated actors including two time Tony Award winner John Lithgow, two time Academy Award winner Diane Wiest, Tony nominated actor Patrick Wilson and Katie Holmes in her Broadway debut.

Miller based this story on a successful businessman who knowingly sold the government defective airplane parts during World War II and as a result contributed to tragic consequences. The truth eventually comes to the surface and his life begins to quickly fall apart around the time his son is to marry his business partners daughter. It is a story of family loyalty verses a person’s responsibility to society. The ultimate question throughout the production seems to be can there be redemption for someone living a life of lies?

The production first premiered on Broadway in 1947 and became Miller’s first big success winning him a Tony Award. In the current production acclaimed actor Lithgow takes on the role of patriarch Joe Keller. This accomplished actor has been nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award as well as being a three time Emmy Award winner for his role as Dick on the popular sitcom Third Rock from the Sun. Lithgow has also enjoyed a triumphant Broadway career beginning with his 1973 Tony Award winning role in The Changing Room. He also picked up a Tony for his work in the 2002 production of Sweet Smell of Success and a nomination for his role as Lawerence James in the 2005 production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. In the role of Joe’s tortured wife Kate is two time Academy Award winner Wiest. She has many stage credits both on and off-Broadway including Othello and In The Summer House but is probably best known for her memorable roles in such notable films as Hannah and Her Sisters and Edward Scissorhands. Wilson is known for his Tony nominated work in The Full Monty and Oklahoma. He also starred as Raoul in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera. Holmes is best known for her role as Joey on the popular teen drama Dawson’s Creek and in the films Batman Begins and The First Daughter.

The cast alone is worth the price of admission for this powerful family saga. They bring the characters to life with a certain depth and control. A family drama unfolds amidst a story of personal greed and patriotic duty. This production is as moving and as poignant today as it was when it first debuted. All My Sons play tickets are on sale now for this emotional production. Get your seats as soon as possible!
