Broadway Play (Drama)

History :: Now Playing :: Schedule :: Reviews

A star-studded cast featuring the debut of Katie Holmes is sure to make All My Sons tickets, sell like hot cakes. Scheduled for an official opening on October 16, 2008, this Tony Award winning drama, inspired by a true story, will begin previews at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater from September 18, 2008.

A Story Of Personal Greed And Patriotism

The play is inspired by the true story of a successful businessman, who knowingly sold defective airplane parts to the government, during World War II. This leads to tragic consequences for the pilots. The truth ultimately gets revealed and this leads to a lot of turbulence in his life. This is the time when his son is to marry his business partner’s daughter.

This is a story about divided loyalties, one towards family and the other as a responsibility towards society. The main question throughout this production is about the possibility of redemption for a person who has lived a life full of lies. This family saga enacted by great stars is going to make All My Sons tickets sell pretty fast.

A Starry Cast

Katie Holmes, who is all set to make her debut on Broadway with this show, will be supported on stage by several other well known actors. Notable among them are two time Tony Award winner John Lithgow of Third Rock from the Sun, two time Oscar Award winner Diane Wiest from Hannah and Her Sisters and Tony nominated actor Patrick Wilson of Little Children. With such a great cast, All My Sons tickets are going to see a great rush.

Written by the well known playwright Arthur Miller, the show is directed by Simon McBurney and produced by Eric Falkenstein. The scenes and costumes are designed by Tom Pye of Top Girls and Fiddler on the Roof.

The current production has Lithgow, who has had a successful Broadway career with his Tony Award winning role in The Changing Room, starring as Joe Keller, the patriarch. Joe’s wife Kate is enacted by Wiest, who has many stage credits like Othello and In The Summer House, besides films like Edward Scissorhands to her name. Joe’s son is played by Wilson who marries his business partner’s daughter Ann, played by Holmes.

This controversial work of Miller, who had to testify before the US House Committee on Un-American Activities for his comments on society, makes All My Sons tickets even more attractive.

Book Your Tickets Fast!

When it first premiered in 1947, this production became Miller’s first big success and even earned him a Tony Award. It ran for 328 performances on Broadway. The current production, with all its famous stars is just as emotional and poignant.

All My Sons tickets , which are on sale now, can be purchased from Broadway authorized ticket brokers to get the best seating arrangement. Any true fan of theater will rush to book a seat.
