Billy Elliot Broadway released in the year 2000, is a musical show based on the film Billy Elliot. The show premiered at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London in March 2005. The budget for the show was 5.5milllion pounds. It was directed by Stephen Daldry and the music was by Sir Elton John. The preview in Broadway was at the Imperial Theatre on 1 October 2008 and officially to the public on 13 November 2008 with a cast of 51. The show was directed and designed by the London team.

Broadway is a popular tourist attraction in New York City. It is one of the largest theatres with a capacity of 500 seats. The role of Billy in the Broadway cast is played in rotation by David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish.
Billy Elliot Broadway show is the story of an 11 year old English boy who dreams to be a ballet dancer. The story is set around the 1984-85 coal miners’ strike. The boy is different from his friends who are into the conventional game of boxing. He is from a small town in County Durham where he continues to pursue his passion secretly.
Billy’s dance talent is recognized by his teacher Mrs. Wilkinson. She tells him to audition for the Royal Ballet School in London. His family however shows absolutely no regard for his talent. As luck has it Billy’s father realizes the talent in him and decides to help him make it to the ballet audition. Billy is given the platform to perform and he proves himself. Billy makes it to the ballet school and begins the journey to fulfill his dream.

Mower at 13 years was the youngest actor to win an award

First show’s anniversary on 12th May 2006 saw the final appearance of the three original Billys –Lomas, Maguire and Mower
The show opened at Sydney’s Capitol Theater on 13 November 2007
In 2008, it won the best musical at the Sydney theatre Awards
The production is now transferred from Sydney to Melbourne’s Her Majesty Theatre to begin on December 13, 2008
The production plans to begin in Seoul at LG Arts Center in the year 2010
The Billys have excellent bio data - David is studying on a scholarship at American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School; Kiril won the Grand Prix junior age division at the Youth Grand Prix in 2007, Kowalik at 11 was the youngest male to win the World Irish Dancing Championship. Kowalik also blogs his website regularly on his experiences with the Billy Elliot Broadway musical.
