New York City has close to forty legitimate theaters, and there are many more known as Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theaters. The latter two categories have smaller seating capacity in comparison to that in theaters on Broadway. Off-Broadway theaters have a seating capacity between 100 and 499, whereas the Off-Off-Broadway theaters have a seating capacity of less then 100. Even with so many theaters showing a large variety of plays, Broadway play tickets are not so easy to obtain, unless you know how.
