“Young Frankenstein” is a brain surgeon who is in a fix. He inherits his grandfather’s spooky castle and a bizarre laboratory that witnesses crazy experiments of bringing the dead to life. The surgeon has two choices – he can either continue the crazy experiments or flee to another city and start a new life as a brain surgeon. There is also this sexy lab assistant, Inga, who harbors a soft corner for him.

The show contains memorable songs like "The Transylvania Mania", "He Vas My Boyfriend", and "Putting On the Ritz". With every scene, the mystery deepens and finally, the castle reveals some stark secrets, along with the murky links at Transylvania Heights.

Come November 8 and you will find it almost impossible to get seats for “Young Frankenstein”, as it will open at Hilton Theatre of Broadway. Susan Stroman is all set to steal the hearts of audience by her impeccable choreography and direction. Mel Brooks has, once again, proved his mettle by giving entirely different tunes and lyrics. And there are no words to express the fine work done by Thomas Meehan, who has co-written the book.

“Young Frankenstein” has the potential to keep the audience’s interest captivated till the end. Each scene exudes excellent performance by the actors. The way the whole play is produced and enacted on stage, there is not a second that makes you bored sitting in the theater.

The character of Frankenstein, who gets lots of sympathy for the catch 22 situation he has got himself into, is played beautifully by Roger Bart. Roger is well-known for playing Snoopy in “You’re A Good Man”. This show bagged Roger a Tony Award. Besides this, his performance in “The Producers” as Carmen Ghia is terrific.

Sutton Foster, who plays the lab assistant, Inga, is equally striking in her performance. She is the same actor who had gained huge applause and a Tony Award for playing Millie Dillmount in the super hit show “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

Then we have Shuler Hensley as ‘The Monster’ on this show. He, too, had stunned the audience in the Disney production “Tarzan” by playing the role of Kerchak.

In addition to this, Elizabeth is played by Megan Mullally. She had grabbed an award for her fine performance as Karen Walker in the show “Will & Grace”. You can also see Christopher Fitzgerald playing Igor and Fred Applegate playing Kemp. Both are commendable.
