The Story Of The Yankees Told On Broadway!


Bronx Bombers tickets are on sale now for the new Broadway production from the team that brought "Lombardi" to the big stage! The new sports play could not be a better fit for the city of New York and it's storied franchise and beloved MLB team which has rich traditions within the city, country and world. Love them hate them, the "Bronx Bombers" have some of the biggest names, teams and moments in all of sports. The new Broadway play captures a detailed history of events for the franchise through the eyes of Yogi Berra and his wife Carmen. The play brings onto the stage many of the huge names and players of the past to create an endearing and entertaining evening for Yankee fans, baseball fans, sports fans and theater-goers.

The story of the Yankee Franchise will be told at the Circle in the Square Theater starting in previews on January 10, 2014. The Production will have an official opening night on February 6, 2014 where it will remain as an open-ended production. The "Bronx Bombers is written by Eric Simonson, who centers his story around the epic fallout between superstar hitter Reggie Jackson and then manager Billy Martin. The story then weaves throughout important pasts of history for the franchise, looking at different trial and triumphs over the years, told through real life players. The story is told by such characters as Peter Scolari and Tracy Shayne as Yogi and Carmen Berra; Francois Battiste as Reggie Jackson; and Keith Nobbs as Billy Martin.

The story of the Bronx Bombers is now the third in a sports series by producer Fran Kirmser who also created "Lombardi" telling the story of legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi which opened in 2010. Kirmser followed his sports drama with the true basketball story of rivals Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, which detailed both their on court rivalry and later endearing friendship. The production simply titled “Magic/Bird,” opened in 2012 for a small Broadway run which included 24 previews and 37 regular performances.

The production for Broadway's Bronx Bombers is been advertised heavily to New York sports fans and Yankee fans throughout the cities sports bars, television shows and networks and sports radio.
