Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Broadway tickets bring the audience into the story of a plantation home in the Mississippi Delta. Big Daddy Pollitt is a well off cotton tycoon and the tale unravels around his family in crisis. The story mainly focuses on "Big Daddy's" son Brick and Maggie the "Cat", Brick's wife. The southern family all come together for a birthday party for patriarch Big Daddy Pollitt after his return from the doctor's in which he was told he has a clean bill health. As the story unfold the viewer quickly realizes things are not as they appear and the family is well crafted in deceitful ways. Through the wealthy cotton tycoon and his close family many different areas of family and social issues are examined in a reoccurring matter throughout including greed, superficiality, mendacity, social issues, decay, sexual desire, repression, and impending death.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is playwright Tennessee Williams most popular works as well as his favorite personal work. His play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955. There were different versions of the plays script for the premiere on Broadway which opened in 1955. The original Broadway debut was directed by Elia Kazan and starred Burl Ives as Big Daddy. Barbara Bel Geddes as Maggie was the only cast member from the production to be nominated for a Tony Award. Elia Kazan was also nominated for "Best Director of a Play." A London production was also launched using an alternative script then the original Broadway production. The play has been reworked and revived throughout the years with some success. In 1958 MGM studios adapted a film version of the play. The film starred Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Judith Anderson, and Jack Carson, with Burl Ives and Madeleine Sherwood reprising their stage roles from the original Broadway production.

The 2013 Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams master work is on of the years more anticipated stage shows. Rob Ashford directs and superb cast which includes Scarlett Johansson as Maggie , Ciaran Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as son Brick and Debra Monk as Big Momma.
