The Cat On A Hot Tin Roof play tickets transports the viewer to the Mississippi Delta during the plantation era. The story centers around Big Daddy Pollitt, a cotton tycoon of the time period, and his immediate family as they deal with a certain crisis. Big Daddy's son Brick and his wife Maggie the "Cat" are at the center of the controversy. The entire family has joined together for Big Daddy's birthday party. Big Daddy has just returned from the doctor with news that his health is in fine shape, however, things my not be as they seem. The family if Big Daddy seem to be engaged in some forms of deceit, which quickly exposes the characters and there less than moral behaviors. Through the families immediate crisis many social issues are examined in depth as many of humanities worst traits are exposed in glaring truth.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Broadway play is the creation of playwright Tennessee Williams. The work has endured a long history on Broadway since it first premiered back in 1955. The play would win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955 and find success on the Broadway stage under the direction of Elia Kazan and starring Burl Ives as Big Daddy. The play would go onto be staged for London's West End using an alternative script which strayed from the original Broadway production quite greatly. The play has went on to be reworked for many different staging's over the years. Broadway alone has seen the production staged a total of six times with three production's running over the last decade. An adaptation was eventually created by MGM Studios for a film version which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman. The movie was released to the big screen in 1958. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is considered to be Tennessee Williams greatest work as a playwright and the work always remained his personal favorite.

The 2013 production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof has produced quite an intriguing revival. Rob Ashford directs a stunning cast which features Scarlett Johansson in the role of Maggie the "Cat." Other cast members include Ciaran Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as son Brick and Debra Monk as Big Momma.
