Cinderella tickets are on sale now for the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein story debut on Broadway! The newly made over and adapted children's story is sure to be a huge family hit on Broadway for 2013. The production was first released as a made-for-television musical in 1957. The fairy-tale story of "Cinderella" quickly grabbed hold of the hearts of children and parents and has been endlessly adapted and used in all forms of entertainment. The the wonderful tale lands a home at the Broadway Theatre were it is scheduled for an open-ended run. The official opening night is set for March 3rd, 3013 with previews beginning on January 25. Cinderella on Broadway is sure to provide a great evening of entertainment for family's of all ages.

The original story of Cinderella dates back to Charles Perrault's first published work in 1697. Commonly called "Cinderella," or "The Little Glass Slipper"throughout the world the story began as a folk tale. The story would eventually take on the genre of "fairy tale" once Brothers Grimm would add the story to their collection in "Grimms' Fairy Tales." The story would go onto take different forms from there. The 1957 TV musical would bring the tale to mainstream America. The television production was Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and starred Julie Andrews as Cinderella and also featured Jon Cypher, Kaye Ballard, Alice Ghostley and Edie Adams. Over the years Cinderella had been used in hundreds of films and shows.

Cinderella was produced for the stage in 1904 and debuted at the Drury Lane Theatre in London. In 1905 a stage production Adelphi Theatre in London. Cinderella by Rodgers and Hammerstein was produced for television three times. The version was staged in 1958 at the London Coliseum, with a cast which included Tommy Steele, Yana, Jimmy Edwards, Kenneth Williams and Betty Marsden. The stage production featured Rodgers and Hammerstein songs plus a song written by Tommy Steele.

2013 marks the Broadway debut for the Rodgers and Hammerstein version of Cinderella. The production promises to update the storyline with a modern twist. The 2013 stage production includes new songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein catalog. Songs to be featured include. “In My Own Little Corner” and “Impossible/It’s Possible.” The adored story of a "maid-turned-princess" holds on to the endearing classic fairy-tale elements which include of course the pumpkin, glass slipper and masked ball. The 2013 Broadway production includes a new book by Douglas Carter Beane. Mark Brokaw directs a cast which includes Laura Osnes as Ella, Santino Fontana as Topher, Victoria Clark as Marie and Harriet Harris as Madame. the 2013 Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella production is sure to be the perfect fit for family's heading to Broadway, the staging keeps the beloved parts of the story in tact, while adding some fresh twists and comedic moments sure to put smiles on everyone who catches a performance.
