The show tells a complex story of love, marriage and relashionships in general. Under the direction of John Doyle, a Tony Award winner for his outstanding work in Sweeney Todd. In 1970 the original production opened at the Alvin Theater on Broadway to great reviews, winning 6 Tony awards, as well as the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. The new production is moving from The Cincinatti Playhouse in the Park to the Barrymore Theater with the full cast. Company tickets are selling at high prices and seating is close to selling out on a daily basis. The average ticket prices are running close to $80.00 and going as high as $300.00. The show continues to gross close to half a million dollars per week. The Barrymore theater holds 8,408 patrons and sells out an average of 6,000.
