Coram Boy Review
This is a show which has not garnered a lot of attention on Broadway as it moved from it's original home in London, but most theater fanatics should embrace the play once they go see it. The title seems to create a certain curiosity and interest of exactly the meaning behind it and what it all means. The show is a melodrama focusing around an orphan and filled with great music and stage presents which makes theater and particularly Broadway such a draw for such time.
Though considered a play the show boasts a 20 member chorus which is larger then most musicals these days and also has a 7 piece orchestra with a conductor in the pit. While filled with all the great music you will be treated with a great touching story of a 18th century England orphan who was abandoned by his parents and the show gives everything you would want and expect for a classic theater experience. For those who are looking to understand just what the title means or what is the meaning of the intriguing title, A Coram boy refers to someone who was abandoned by their parents and the name is derived from Thomas Coram who established an early 18th century hospital to care for such abandoned children in London.
