ANGELA LANSBURY RETURNS TO BROADWAY!

Two stage legends come to Broadway this April at the Music Box Theatre in a touching play by Tony award winning playwright Terrence McNally. Angela Lansbury and Marian Seldes team up as two aging tennis players who meet after years and reminisce about their lives. The pairing of the two creates theatrical magic. Deuce is one of the season’s most anticipated productions.

The story centers on the reunion of two retired tennis players who once made up a championship doubles team. Now, at the end of their lives they meet again at the U.S. Open and try to make sense of the partnership that brought them to the top of their game during youth. Together they relive their past success, rehash old rivalries and reveal secrets that have been buried for many years. It is a tale of friendship, competition and lifelong memories.

The show boasts an impressive cast with two very strong leading ladies. Their theatrical resumes alone bring much experience to this production. Lansbury, a four time Tony award winner, is back on Broadway after a more then twenty year hiatus. She has won Tony’s for her roles in Mame, Dear World, Gypsy and Sweeny Todd. Some of her other notable Broadway shows include The King and I and Anyone Can Whistle. She is also an accomplished film star, and has been nominated for an Academy award on three separate occasions for her performances in “Gaslight,” “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and “The Manchurian Candidate.” Lansbury, who recently turned 81, is probably best known for her twelve year run as the beloved Jessica Fletcher on the hit mystery series “Murder She Wrote.” This role earned her four Golden Globe awards and twelve Emmy nods. Tony award winner Marian Seldes is a mainstay both on and off Broadway. She was last seen on the Great White Way in 2002 in Dinner at Eight. For her talent, Seldes was also inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 1996.

Deuce is a heartwarming story about two life long friends who come to terms with the past and cherish the future. It is a story of sisterhood, old rivalries, team work and revelations that are sometimes hard to accept. It is a fresh, funny and touching tribute to partnerships everywhere. This is certainly a feel good production that will make you smile. It is currently scheduled to run through August and is a great opportunity to witness two magnificent performers doing what they do best.

Deuce tickets are selling on average for around $65.00 with premium seating Deuce tickets costing over $250.00. The Music Box Theater has a weekly seating capacity of 8,072 and sells out around 6,240 for all eight shows per week.
