Master playwright David Mamet brings Glengarry Glen Ross Broadway to life on the big stage. The production is being billed as the "30th Anniversary" for what many consider to be his master work. The revival production boats an impressive cast which included legendary screen and stage actor Al Pacino. The staging takes place at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre with official opening night set for December 8, 2012. The play is a limited-engagement scheduled for a final curtain on January 20th, 2013. For fans of Mamet and Pacino this is sure to be a real treat this winter.

Glengarry Glen Ross Broadway is one of Mr. Mamet's more popular and critically received works. The original production won the Pulitzer for Drama in 1984. The play had it's world premiere back in 1982 on the London stage. The play had it's U.S premiere at the Goodman Theatre of the Arts Institute of Chicago on February 6, 1984. The production then moved to Broadway at the John Golden Theatre for an opening night on March 25, 1984. The original Glengarry Glen Ross Broadway production ran for a total of 378 performances. On May 1, 2005 a Broadway revival was launched at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The revival was directed by Joe Mantello and included a cast of Live Schreiber as Roma, Alan Alda as Levene, Frederick Weller as Williamson, Gordon Clapp as Moss, Jeffrey Tambor as Aaronow, Tom Wopat as Lingk and Jordan Lage as Baylen. The revival was well received and nominated for numerous Tony Awards and took home "Best Revival of a Play." A London revival was launched on September 27, 2007 at the Apollo Theatre under the direction of James Macdonald. In 1992 James Foley directed an adaptation which included and extended script for the big screen. The film boasted an impressive cast which included:

Jack Lemmon as Shelley Levene
Kevin Spacey as John Williamson
Ed Harris as Dave Moss
Alan Arkin as George Aaronow
Al Pacino as Richard Roma
Jonathan Pryce as James Lingk
Jude Ciccolella as Baylen
Alec Baldwin as Blake

Glengarry Glen Ross tells a story covering a two day period in which four Chicago real estate agents become desperate enough to sink to immoral behavior to land sales. The four agents will stoop to any tactic needed in order to sell very undesirable properties to unsuspecting potential buyers. Nothing is off limits including unethical lies and flattery all the way to illegal bribes and threats. The play was inspired by Mamet's brief time in Chicago real estate during the 1960's. The work loosely draws from the playwright's personal experiences.

Any chance for theater fans to catch Al Pacino on the Broadway stage is a real treat. To be able to catch such a legend on Broadway starring in a Pulitzer Prize winning David Mamet work really makes "Glengarry Glen Ross," one the years "must see" shows. Talk in the town is that Mr. Pacino is delivering a strong a inspired performance. Unfortunately the production is a strict limited-engagement , so act quick to be sure not to miss the wonderful new addition to Broadway.
