This new pop musical comes to the Circle in the Square beginning May 6, 2008. Glory Days, a coming of age story, comes to Broadway after a successful run at Arlington, Virginia’s Signature Theatre. The production which runs ninety minutes with no intermission is a witty look at four high school friends who are trying to find there place in life.

The production focuses on four best friends, Will, Andy, Skip and Jack, who reunite one year after graduation on the football field of their former high school. During this reunion they begin to realize just how different they actually are and how much they have grown apart in that little bit of time. While they try to reconnect and understand one another they reminisce about the “glory days” of high school when life was simple and their differences really didn’t seem to matter. Adulthood has forced them to change and grasp the concept that life will never be the same. The show is a moving story that intertwines pop music into the plot and the lyrics relate to the emotional ride these four friends are on. They begin to see that nothing can compare to those good old days of youth but also understand that life goes on and you have to move with it.

The show was written by the innovative team of Nick Blaemire (music and lyrics) and James Gardiner (book). Both men, who are twenty-three, have been friends since their own high school days and began writing the play seven years ago. Blaemire is currently in the ensemble of the new Broadway production of Cry-Baby. The four person cast is making the transfer from Signature intact. The Broadway newcomers are Steven Booth (Will), Andrew C. Call (Andy), Adam Halpin (Skip) and Jesse JP Johnson (Jack).

Glory Days is the last musical to be added to the 2007-2008 theater season making it eligible to be nominated for a Tony Award. It is a truth revealing journey for the four characters as they refuse to be stereotyped and are forced to find their way in life. It is a tale that the audience can relate to on some level because at some time in our lives we reach a point where we realize that we can no longer go back so we choose to except and move on or stay trapped in the past. Don’t miss your opportunity to find out what these characters decide to do. Get your Glory Days tickets for this fun, moving and eclectic story of friendship today!
