Good People Tickets
Pulitzer Prize Winning Playwright Brings New Play To Broadway!Good People tickets are for sale now for all performances at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The new Broadway play is written by American playwright and lyricist David Lindsay-Abaire. Lindsay-Abaire is no stranger to The Great White Way. Many may know his work "Rabbit Hole" which played the big stage in 2007. The work would go onto receiving the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as a few Tony Award nominations. Good People tickets officially began selling after the plays opening night on March 3, 2011. The production has been running in previews since February 9 and was originally scheduled to close on April 24. The well received play has recently been extended with a closing night set for May 8. The work of Lindsay-Abaire sets out to explore a struggling section of Boston known as "Southie." A typical working class blue-color suffering middle American place in which jobs are difficult to come by and having enough to cover the bills is almost unheard of. The story centers around Margie Walsh played by Frances McDormand. Margie has just lost her job and is on the verge of being evicted. She becomes reunited an old flame that made it out of "Southie" and has become successful. Looking for a fresh start Margie begins trying to reunite the past fling and escape the woes of Southie herself but will the self made man of her past want to revisit the harsh realities of his past? Lindsay-Abaire writing works to uncover the hardships of struggling America. The playwright's trademark humorous glow shines throughout the entire stage show. The work is a window into the existence of the "hand-to-mouth" working class and the struggles of those looking to escape it. The ever shifting loyalties, which are only evident because of the unshakable hopes of those pushing to move forward at any expense. Lindsay-Abaire's work also explores the divide between those who worked hard to escape and those who are still stuck in "Southie." Good People tickets for Broadway will treat the viewer to a thought-provoking stage play filled with laughs. The great cast includes Oscar winning actress Frances McDormand as Maggie and TV regular Tate Donovan as Mike. Many of the wonderful laughs come from within the relationship of Maggie and her neighbors, particularly Oscar winner Estelle Parsons as Dottie. Director Daniel Sullivan does a marvelous job with the characters and feel of the production. Other creative credits include scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Pat Collins and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff.
