Synopsis

Most of the action in this Shakespearean masterpiece takes place in a Scandinavian castle in Denmark. The king of Denmark has just died and his widow, Queen Gertrude, has married his brother Claudius. Hamlet returns to Elsinore Castle to find himself entrapped in deceit, revenge, love, madness and morality.

His anger has no bounds when he finds out that his father has been murdered by Claudius. He must seek revenge; however, in this revenge he loses his love, his mother and even his own life. The great tragedy of this prince has moved theater goers for centuries and it still does.

Jude Law has given a powerful performance in this modern adaptation of Hamlet. The play is being touted as one of the best on Broadway today. Going by the reviews and ticket sales, there is no doubt that theater goers are literally going gaga over the performance of Jude Law.
