Located on the northwest corner of 15th Street, the venue is a legend on its own . . . as much as the legends who performed here over the years, such as Bob Dylan, Debbie Harry and Johnny Cash. And that is no mean praise. It has hosted many theatre, dance and music events. The concert halls founder, Andrew Rasiej, built it in 1992, and made it into New York’s top concert hall. Right from the time it opened its doors to the public, Irving Plaza has seen top performers, such as Eric Clapton, Tom Jones, Melissa Ethridge, Blues Traveler, Live, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews Band and Johnny Cash.
Irving Plaza tickets for this high-class rock and rap venue is always difficult to get your hands on. This is why we, at Reedstickets.net, have always been a favorite place for fans to obtain their tickets for their favorite events at Irving Plaza. Irving Plaza – Its Profile
This three-storied 1,000 seats hall has, over the last 14 years, catered to a variety of musical tastes. Though built with an aim to dish out straight rock, this veteran concert hall has been a lot of things, including an Off-Broadway Theater, a boxing arena, and a burlesque joint. Remember Gypsy Rose Lee who stripped here? From big names, to has-beens, to small timers on their way to bigger arenas, this veteran hall has seen it all. If you wish to check out artists before they graduate to greener pastures, this is the place.
The plush red couches in the lobby, opulent mirrors on the staircase, and a gold-plated ceiling with red neon, are the heritage, since the early 1990s, from the long-running musical, “Song of Singapore.” The main ballroom, with chandeliers and an upper balcony can hold 1000 Standing Room Only patrons.
Performances are known to open with unknown acts, such as Dave Matthews and Bright Eyes, and they did return as well known and successful headliners in business. The highly popular U2 and Sting have performed in this space in the recent years and so has Prince, who once displayed a three-and-half-hour late night performance.
Depending on your mood, you can join the fun at the foot of the stage, or enjoy the complete spectacle from the balcony, away from the madding crowd. The sound is excellent, and you can see the whole performance from any where in the house, without any bad sightline.
The upstairs lounge offers a view of the stage from above, but more than that is the attraction of the bar!Get Your Tickets For Irving Plaza Performances
