New Musical Featuring Award Winning Music and Score From Cyndi Lauper!

Kinky Boots tickets are now available for all performances on Broadway! The musical is based on the 2005 British-American comedy-drama movie. The story of a family owned shoe factory facing bankruptcy and looking to salvage the business with a line of custom fetish footwear. The Broadway premiere will be at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, with official opening night on April 4, 2013. Previews begin on March 3, 2013 and the production is scheduled for an open-ended run. "Kinky Boots" is based on a true story and well worth checking out this spring!

Charlie Price's father has recently passed and he soon finds himself having to save his families shoe business. "Price and Son", is a 4th generation shoe factory located in English Midlands. Charlie originally plans to step aside from the business and move to London with his fiance. Once his father suddenly passed away Charlie finds out at the funeral the show factory is near bankrupt. The factory has always produced a solid product, but as times have changed the shoes are out of style. Rather then deal with the struggling business Charlie opts for selling it. He soon realizes that by losing the factory the workers will be out of their jobs. Charlie heads back to London where he meets a drag queen performer named Lola. He quickly notices Lola's shoes are not able to handle the weight of a man. Charlie has a new business idea, creating a new line of footwear for drag queens named "Kinky Boots." Can Charlie's new venture save the family business and jobs for the workers, or will it all crumble along with his relationship with his fiance in London?

Kinky Boots began rehearsals at New 42nd Street Studios in New York September 2012. The production then moved onto it's Broadway pre-run at Bank of America Theatre in Chicago where it ran from October 2, 2012 until November 4, 2012. The Broadway debut was March 3, 2013 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and officially opened on April 4th of the same year.

The Broadway cast includes Billy Porter, Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford. with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The production is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. The hit new musical garnered a season-high of thirteen nominations and 6 wins at the Tony Awards, including Best Musical as well as Best Score for Cyndi Lauper. Kinky Boots tickets are expected to sell for a national tour of the production in 2014. Kinky Boots is a fun and different story following the Broadway trend of musicals based on or inspired by movies or books. This story is also based on a true story of a conservative family adding to the entertainment. With a Tony ward winning score from the talented Cyndi Lauper , "Kinky Boots" would be a tough musical to pass up this year!
