Another princess makes her way to the stage in this highly anticipated classic underwater fairy tale. The classic Disney production opened at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre in November of 2007 and has been capturing the hearts of young princesses and princes ever since.. Based on the beloved Disney film and the traditional Hans Christian Andersen story The Little Mermaid will no doubt mesmerize and dazzle audiences for some time to come. Don’t miss your chance to see what this impressive underwater sensation is all about!

A beautiful, young mermaid is unhappy with life under the sea and wishes to leave her magical kingdom to explore the human world. Along with her best friend, a fish named Flounder; she often sneaks onto sunken ships to search for human artifacts and visits the surface of the ocean. Unfortunately, contact between humans and merpeople is forbidden, but her obsession leads her to create a grotto full of all of the human treasures she has collected. Through the course of the musical she must defy her father, the King of the Sea, escape Ursula the evil sea witch and overcome the obstacles that keep her from her human prince. Will she find her happily ever after?

This stunning stage adaptation features music from the hit 1989 film as well as some new, enchanting music. The colorful score was composed by eight time Academy Award winner Alan Menker and Howard Ashman and includes such classics as “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl” and the Academy Award winning Best Original Song “Under the Sea.” Additional music for the production was written by Menker and Glen Slater and the book was created by Tony Award winning playwright Doug Wright. The highly sought after role of Ariel was snagged by Sierra Boggess. Ms. Boggess is well-known for her portrayal of Christine in the Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera. Since originating the role for the stage she has fascinated and delighted many little girls and has made their time at the theater a magical one.

In true Disney fashion a visionary team of theater artists from around the world has come together to transform the stage into an underwater spectacular. The Little Mermaid is a theatrical production like no other currently on Broadway. It is a show the whole family can enjoy together. The costumes, the set; a unique underwater world, the music and the magical storyline create an experience that will not be easily forgotten. So, don’t forget to make this production part of your world … you won’t regret it!
