The band included lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Levine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, bass guitarist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick. The band quickly evolved taking in guitarist James Valentine and revamping as "Maroon 5." The following year they released "Songs About Jane" which contained four hits and topped the charts. Maroon 5 gained worldwide popularity almost instantly.
