The Show Synopsis

Memphis is a fictionalized story of Huey Calhoun who is a white radio DJ living in Memphis, Tennessee. The story is set in the turbulent 1950s. The musical features an original score that offers great combination of gospel, rhythm and blues with modern sensibility and original rock ‘n’ roll styling.

While hearing the music in the black bars situated on Beale Street, Huey gets highly influenced by the “race records” and this when transferred to his on-air enthusiasm creates a rage that make the white audience yearn for African-American music. During the process, Huey falls in love with an attractive black lady singer and his personal life crosses the race line ending with severe outcomes.
