The original press releases states: "Telling the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Spamalot features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights, flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits, and one legless knight who create unforgettable musical production numbers that Eric Idle promises will be as good or quite likely better than any other show with killer rabbits and a legless knight opening on Broadway or in Chicago this season."

Monty Python Spamalot Storyline
Monty Python's Spamalot is the Broadway musical based on the classic movie "The search For The Holy Grail" and includes a musical score and book by the original Monty Python cast member Eric idle.
The direction is attributed to Mike Nichols to tell the story of "Camelot and King Authors Knights of the Roundtable, with their quest for the Holy Grail
Spamalot follows the original pretty closely for the most part, but does go off on it's own with some high production stunts and Broadway theater parodies, at times, such as dumping glittered paper over the crowd.
The production is one of the highlights of Spamalot, with the costumes by Tim Hatley staying true to the Monty Python persona and Hugh Vanstone lighting adding to the experience. Three new songs written by Idle, collaborating with John Du Prez including the Idle classic "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," from Life of Brian,
John Cleese, recorded, scores as the Voice of God, which makes for possibly the funniest segments of the venue, and a real treat to drive the show over the top.
Monty Python's Spamalot won the 2005 Tony for best musical, and is sent on it's way to be a huge box office hit. Ticket sales are soaring and do to word of mouth and critical acclaim shows are selling out fast. Some true die hard fans of the movie have had a few gripes with the musical, as it does stray a bit for the purpose of Broadway production, it is well produced and directed and offers some memorable moments.
