The hit original Broadway musical is playing at the Richard Rogers Theatre with the current performance schedule PERFORMANCES Tue - Sat at 8pm Wed & Sat at 2pm Sun at 3pm Opening at the Richard Rogers October 2, 2004 the schedule is set to run through December 31, 2005. The Richard Rogers is located South side of West 46th Street, between Broadway & 8th Avenue. The songs from Grammy award winning Billy Joel are put together under the Emmy award wining direction of Twyla Tharp for a story about six lifelong friends over two decades, from the carefree youth of the late 1960's through all the hardtimes life throws at them as they enter adulthood. Based on the song "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" In which Brenda and Eddie were just a young couple in love, now we get to see what happened after that prom night as life moves on. The amazing thing is, throughout the 23 other unrelated songs used from Billy Joel's albums, Twyla blends them into the story as if every song was part of this story concept. Critics and fans all applaud Movin Out as a great Broadway Achievement Winner of Two 2004 Tony Awards including Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. The production was conceived, directed and choreographed by Twyla Tharp, a musical score by Billy Joel.
