Nice Work If You Can Get It Broadway tickets are a true treat for Gershwin musical fans. The production was bound to end up on the Broadway stage even after many disappointing delays and somewhat serious problems in production. Even after a production team dropping the show and star actor Harry Connick Jr. dropping out a team could put the pieces together. Now Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara step in order to sing the splendid Gershwin show tunes, including the title song "Nice Work If You Can Get It." This wonderful new musical opened on April 24, 2012 at the Imperial Theatre and scheduled for an open-ended run.

One has to ask themselves, would there even be Broadway musicals without the work of George and Ira Gershwin? Well of course there would be, but many of Broadway's greatest show tunes and scores would never have happened, as well as memorable historical moments along "The Great White Way." For musical fans and Gershwin fans impracticality, the new Nice Work If You Can Get It Broadway musical is a true treat this spring season.

The musical was initially produced back in 2001 for the Goodspeed Opera House under the title "They All Laughed!" The original production received mixed reviews leading to a string of new collaborations and production attempts. With most problems worked out a workshop began in 2007 featuring Harry Connick Jr. under the title "Heaven on Earth." The workshop was scheduled to mount a staging at Colonial Theatre in Boston, running from December 2008 through January 2009. This debut was planned to transfer onto Broadway in 2009. In 2008 problems in production became transparent as director and choreographer, Kathleen Marshall left the project. An internal feud occurred within the production, eventually causing the lead star Harry Connick Jr. to walk away from the production. The attempt to get the show onto Broadway officially was postponed.

With a brand-new production team in place a fresh reading began on October 8, 2010 starring Matthew Broderick and Sutton Foster. Kathleen Marshall returned to direct under the new production team of Scott Landis. This time the work would find a Broadway home at the Imperial Theatre and begin previews on March 29, 2012. The cast stars Matthew Broderick (Jimmy Winter) and Kelli O'Hara (Billie Bendix) performing "Nice Work If You Can Get It," and "'S Wonderful."

The story takes place throughout Prohibition; Jimmy Winter is well-off ladies' man who is about to wed for the third time. However, he meets an attractive bootlegger, Billie, and they fall in love. He joins her in her bootlegging enterprises, including concealment of the booze at his manor on Long Island. Billie's friends, Duke Mahoney and Cookie McGee, are pursued by the Vice Squad. Jimmy's intended bride, Eileen Evergreen, and her aunt, the Duchess Estonia Duckworth, become enmeshed in the bootlegging conspiracy. Although their worlds are miles apart Jimmy and Billie have a happy ending. You can view our great selection of Nice Work If You Can Get It Broadway tickets online by clicking the link.
