NYC Broadway Tickets To Wicked - The #1 Requested Event!

Wicked – the musical is one of those shows that broke box office records on Broadway, as well as worldwide. It had previously set a record of $1,715,155 for the week ending November 26, 2006, and followed this record sales by setting a new record for the highest weekly grossing in Broadway history with a box office take of $1,800,310 for the week ending December 31, 2006. For this same week, Wicked broke records as the highest grossing show ever in London’s West End ($1,694,000 U.S), Chicago ($1,376,468) and Toronto ($1,562,593 U.S.).  It was already the previous record-holder in each of these markets!

Events such as rock concerts and sporting events have always made it to the list of Top Ten Most Requested Events of the year. Wicked is the first theatrical production to have made it to that list, in 2006, and held the number 1 position!

This big, lavish new musical sees Oz from a different angle, and it is a story of two school roommates from Oz, Elphaba - who grows up to become the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda - who grows up to become the Good Witch of the North.

Wicked is an odyssey of these two roommates – one born with emerald-green skin and who is smart and often misunderstood; whereas the other is very popular, and is beautiful and full of ambition.

As a musical, Wicked is quite different from Wicked the novel. It is a quite simplified form of the novel, but often diverges from it. The musical, in fact, improves upon the novel. Wicked – the musical is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz and takes place before Dorothy arrives on the scene.
