Jon Robin Baitz's Acclaimed New Play Transfers To Broadway!

Other Desert Cities tickets are available now at the box office for the Lincoln Center Theater production. The latest work of the playwright Jon Robin Baitz's has been turning heads, gaining an audience and memorizing critics off-Broadway in a sold-out limited engagement run at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. The beautifully written play is now transferring to the big stage at the Booth Theatre with previews beginning on October 12, 2011. The "off-Broadway" production won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play. Other Desert Cities tickets are sure to be a huge box-office hit for dramatic plays on Broadway this fall.

The story of Other Desert Cities centers around a Republican family with "skeletons in the closet." When Brooke Wyeth returns to her hometown in Palm Springs to reunite with her family after a six-year absence, she explains her plans. Brooke is a writer and once hopeful novelist who has written a memoir. The memoir threatens to expose tragic events in the family's history which her parents would rather have left buried. Brooke plays a hard game with her family at her mercy. The secrets from the family have kept them wealthy and in good graces. Brooke threatens their lifestyle and also holds all the cards. She knows the truth of what has occurred and turns on the establishment she comes from and was once part of.

Other Desert Cities is a wonderfully written work carried strongly through amazing theatrical acting on stage. Joe Mantello (Wicked) leads a talented cast through a seamless flow of witty conversation and heavy dialogue. The characters work together in complete harmony as they engage clever exchanges, which many times push each other buttons. The All-Star cast includes Stockard Channing, Rachel Griffiths, Judith Light, Stacy Keach and Thomas Sadoski.

Other Desert Cities is one of the fall's 2011 most promising new American plays. The production runs two hours and fifteen minutes with one fifteen-minute intermission. The play will open on Broadway at the Booth Theatre on November 3, 2011. Stockard Channing, Stacy Keach and Thomas Sadoski will be re-pising their off-Broadway roles. Rachel Griffiths will make her Broadway debut taking over the role of Brooke Wyeth for Broadway. The Broadway production also adds the talent of Judith Light, whom has been making a recent splash on the stage as of late. Other Desert Cities is as satisfying as a new play gets! Between the excellent writing of Baitz's and a cast that truly delivers it will be a tough show to pass up this fall. Do not be surprised if after viewing you call the box office to catch it one more time!
