The New England Patriots are a team that is on the mind of many NFL enthusiasts. Even people who aren’t fans of the Pats are forced to concede that they have a tremendous amount of respect for the team’s playing strategies and organizational abilities. They certainly have had their fair share of scandals and controversies, the most recent being the Spygate scandal that rocked the foundation of team. But the history of the team is also marked by some glorious wins and memorable plays and fans who can't get enough Patriots tickets.

Boston Beginnings

The Patriots were officially born in 1959 when a Boston businessman bought the final franchise in the American Football League. The team seemed to be wanderers in the sense that for many years, they did not have a stable home field. But that certainly didn’t have an effect on their playing abilities. In fact, it was during this time that many of the Pats’ best players like Gino Cappelletti, Jim Lee Hunt and Vito Parilli came to the fore. The team certainly seemed poised to be an aggressive and exciting team that was ready to take a great big bite out of American football pie.

But things began to get shaky for the team in 1970s. While the team seemed to show great promise in 1973 and 1974, things definitely started going downhill by 1977. In 1978, an Oakland Raiders player called Jack Tatum injured one of the Patriots’ wide receivers badly. This was an especially hard blow since the injury paralyzed the wide receiver from neck down and Tatum never apologized. By the early eighties, the team developed a habit of collapsing late in the season; a good example of this is when they started the 1980 season with a 6-1 record only to crash out with a 10-6 in the playoffs. Some sports writers referred to this as the Bozo Syndrome.

The Comeback

The next two decades were marked with ups and downs for the Patriots. The early nineties were especially harsh as it was marked by the franchise’s worst season and a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a reporter with the Boston Herald. After experiencing a bit of an improvement by 1996, the team slipped again the following year and 1999 proved especially tough for the team. But the Pats forcibly turned their fortunes around in the new millennium. After some management changes, the NFL saw the Pats claim a Super Bowl victory in 2001, posting two more consecutive championship wins in 2003 and 2004 and Patriots tickets were once again one of the biggest grosses for the NFL.

Today, the Patriots are among the most respected teams in the NFL. Known for team discipline that borders a militaristic approach, the team is known to concentrate on the unit as a whole rather than on single players. Many of the team’s key players are notable for being able to play multiple positions. They are also known to employ a number of different strategies which they often modify and ‘mix up’ on the field. They are notorious for focusing and exploiting the weaknesses of the opposing team. You can View Our Huge Selection Of Patriots tickets Online by clicking the link.
