If you want to see the talented Claire Danes make her debut on Broadway, get “Pygmalion” Broadway tickets fast! Danes is Eliza Doolittle in this latest Broadway production by George Bernard Shaw.

“Pygmalion” tells about Professor Henry Higgins. One day, he meets an uneducated and unfortunate cockney girl named Eliza. The professor is so confident of changing this uneducated London street girl into a sophisticated high society lady with etiquettes that he makes a bet. And how does he intend to do this? By altering her style of speaking. However, as he starts in his mission, he realizes that it’s not easy to change people.

Jefferson Mays looks stunning as Professor Henry Higgins in the show. The story of “Pygmalion” reflects pure human emotions that come with altering a person’s living style. It requires time to change a person. Moreover, this change does not confine to physical appearance. You need to take into consideration the emotional side of an individual, while striving towards an altered personality. This naked truth has been finely described in “Pygmalion”.

“Pygmalion” is directed by David Grindley and produced by The Roundabout Theatre Company. The additional star cast of this show is yet to be pronounced. The design team of “Pygmalion” consists of Gregory Clarke, who has given terrific sounds; Jason Taylor, who has arranged effective lighting; and Jonathan Fensom, who has designed fabulous costumes and sets. There is also a dialect coach in the team. He is Majella Hurley. He will assist Jefferson in speaking the right accent for his character of Professor Henry Higgins, when he starts his speech classes for Eliza in the story.

“Pygmalion” can be said to be the first step towards Broadway career for Claire Danes. The group drama “Evening” also has Danes, besides, Patrick Wilson, Toni Collette, Glenn Close, Vanessa Redgrave, and Meryl Streep. And this is not all. Claire Danes has also got a role in “Stardust” by Matthew Vaughn. In this show, she stars opposite Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer!

On September 4, 2007, The Roundabout Theatre Company had called a press meet, as a sort of welcome party for the entire cast of “Pygmalion.” This Broadway show is scheduled to be shown at The Roundabout Theatre. The timings are 8pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays; 2pm on Wednesdays, Sundays, and Weekends; and 7:30pm on September 23, which is a special Sunday evening show.

Starting from November 12 up to November 23, 2007, The Roundabout Theatre has scheduled to run special shows of “Pygmalion” at 7pm, plus an evening performance at 8pm on November 19. On November 22, there will be no show of “Pygmalion.”
