Popular Beatles Tribute Band Takes The Broadway Stage!

The Rain Broadway play assures to deliver note-for-note performances of popular Beatle's songs. The show promises to bring the music of the legendary Liverpool rock band to life on the stage. The songs will be treated with the utmost respect in order to create a genuine experience for fans of the Fab Four and Broadway alike. The production covers the early years of the breakout Ed Sullivan Show all the way through to the groundbreaking work on Abbey Road. The Rain Broadway play is not like a traditional Broadway experience. The show is more like a rock concert which provides a more laid back and casual journey for the audience. Whether a die-hard fan of the Beatles or your first time hearing their music "Rain" is sure to provide a wonderful entertaining experience.

The show is almost like a Beatle cover band playing on the Broadway stage to perfection. The band looks just like the music icons they portray and sound exactly them as well. There are video clips of historical footage, classic commercials and even video close up of the band as they perform. One treat for fans is many songs performed in the Rain Broadway play were never performed by The Beatles in concert. The bands final concert tour was in 1966. The "swan song" tour was well before many of their most beloved songs on albums such as Sgt. Pepper, The White Album and Abbey Road. Now fans have a chance to hear these classic songs performed to live in a true concert atmosphere.

The Rain Broadway play is an offshoot from the earlier Broadway musical "Beatlemania." The show ran for 1006 performances between 1977 to 1979 between the Winter Garden Theatre, Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and finally moving to the Palace Theatre. "Rain" began their career as a 1970's Beatle's tribute band in California. The band originally went by the name "Reign" until changing it to the more familiar spelling of the popular song. Throughout the early years of the band, they had no connection to the Broadway production of "Beatlemania." Once the Broadway production finished its first run the members of "Rain" began working with the cast of the Broadway production. The band has continued to tour it's theatrical show across the United States and beyond. They are one of the highest grossing acts in their genre of a touring show.

Onto Broadway

With the early success of "Beatlemania" and the huge 30 year popularity of "Rain" as a touring tribute band the latest Broadway incarnations were inevitable. The creators of Rain include Beatlemania alum Joey Curatolo (vocals, bass, guitar, piano), Joe Bithorn (vocals, lead guitar, guitar synthesizer), Ralph Castelli (vocals, drums, percussion) and Steve Landes (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica), plus Mark Lewis (keyboards, percussion). All the most cherished and beloved songs will be performed such as “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Strawberry Fields,” “Hey Jude,” “Yesterday,” “Twist and Shout,” With A Little Help from My Friends,” "When I’m 64,” “I Am the Walrus,” “Revolution” “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,”“ and “Come Together.”

The Rain Broadway play was originally scheduled for an 11 week limited engagement from October 26, 2010 until January 2, 2011. A week of performances has been added and the show will now run through January 9 with previews beginning on October 19.
