One of the most talked about new productions for fall 2001 is the Relatively Speaking Broadway play. It is no wonder why the production is getting such attention with writers Woody Allen, Ethan Coen and Elaine May each writing one act. The play is currently running in previews with an opening night on October 20, 2011 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Relatively Speaking Broadway is scheduled for an open-ended run. For fans of New York theatre this work promises to be a comedy of epic proportions!

The play involves the writing from three iconic playwrights and screen writers. Each writer with a resume which spans decades. Each act tells a story from within a family and set in the comedic genre. Ethan Coen writes for the first act, "Talking Cure," a look into family dynamics and just how insane and hilarious they are in their extremes. Elaine May tackles the writing for the second act with "George is Dead," and studies death on a lighter note. Finally, Manhattan native Woody Allen presents the third act with "Honeymoon Motel," a hilarious non-stop ride into a family wedding. The production is under the direction of Emmy Award winner, and Golden Globe Award nominated actor John Turturro.

Both Coen and Allen have spent the last years working as playwrights for popular but less-known Off-Broadway works. While both names are a standard in the film making community, both screenwriters and film makers have found great success recently on the stage. Coen had written, "Almost an Evening," and followed it up with the hit comedy debut of "Offices." Woody Allen also was a playwright for his two World Premiers, "Writer's Block" and "A Second Hand Memory." Elaine May is far from a stranger to the big stage. The popular playwright is a Two-time Academy Award nominated screenwriter and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle award winning playwright. Relatively Speaking Broadway will be Mr. Turturro's Broadway directing debut. He made his acting debuted on Broadway with the play "LifeX3." Of course, Turturro is most well known for his acting chops, many of which come from Coen brother's movies such as "The Big Lebowski" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

The new fall Relatively Speaking Broadway play is sure to gain an audience. With such huge names flashing across the marquee it is likely to be one of the must see productions for fall. The fifteen member ensemble cast tackles the acting throughout the three acts. Information on which actors will play in which acts and characters have not been released. The Cast Includes Bill Army, Caroline Aaron, Katherine Borowitz, Lisa Emery, Ari Graynor, Steve Guttenberg, Danny Hoch, Julie Kavner, Jason Kravits, Richard Libertini, Patricia O'Connell, Mark Linn-Baker, Fred Melamed, Grant Shaud and Marlo Thomas.
