Roger Waters concert tickets are now on sale for the 2010-2011 "The Wall Tour." The concert will include playing the landmark album in its entirety. It has now been over 30 years since "The Wall" was played live in America and the last time was when Waters was a member of Pink Floyd. For fans this comes as an exciting surprise as well as a shock as the former bassist/songwriter for "Floyd" hinted that his last tour would likely be his swan song. It comes as quite a treat that instead of retirement fans will be able to witness every single song throughout two sets as well as encores. All the amazing and state-of-the-art light shows and sound equipment will be at every venue on the tour.

Roger Waters concert tickets are always going to be a monster seller at the box office. Whether it be Waters, Gilmour, Floyd or any member of the legendary band announcing shows it is big news. The fact that Waters has decided on touring behind "The Wall" is another story altogether. This was the 11th album from the already hugely popular progressive rock band "Pink Floyd." Released as a double album on November 30, 1979 and the cult classic movie was soon to follow. Like most all albums before it "The Wall" was a concept album steeped deep with theatrics and themes throughout.

The album as a whole as well as individual songs are thought-provoking to say the least. The album and each of its songs has led to decades of debate, analyzing and opinion. While it followed the same general outline of previous Pink Floyd album's "The Wall" delved deeper into darker ideas and present a stronger theatrical backdrop. The album's concept revolves around a rock star named "Pink," and the story is based on much of Waters life experiences. The content explores the personal isolation "Pink" which can be traced directly back to Waters. From the death of his father in war torn London during World War II, abusive school teachers and the strong overbearing upbringing from his mother the isolation or wall is being built brick by brick metaphorically, symbolically or literally.

The Release, Tour and Movie

Once recording for the album was finished it was played for the Columbia executives at their headquarters in California. The songs did not go over well as those involved with the project were said to be unimpressed as well as worried on the content and subject matter. The record label's concerns were quickly turned around when "Another Brick in the Wall Part 2" rose to the #1 position on the charts in US, Norway, Portugal, Israel, West Germany, South Africa and the U.K. and eventually would go on to become certified Platinum in both the U.S. and U.K.

The success of the album would lead to a subsequent "The Wall Tour," which included huge production and props. The concert event kicked off at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on February 7,1980 and included a 40 foot wall made of bricks built throughout the show between the band and the audience. During the event characters from the story were released into the air in the form of inflatable props to float above throughout the sky. With the success of the album and the tour, it was decided to release a movie with live footage of the show along with some animation. The concert footage was unable to be incorporated and instead a movie was created using animation, real actors and the entire album as the soundtrack. The film version of "The Wall" was released in July 1982. Getting Roger Waters concert tickets to be able and see "The Wall" played again live is going to be a music event of a lifetime. Tickets are on sale now for all 36 venues of the tour so book them quick as they are sure to sell out.
