Seminar tickets are now on sale for performances at the John Golden Theatre this fall. Theresa Rebeck's fascinating play about four young writers meeting to learn from their literary hero. This intriguing new play, a dark comedy, begins previews on October 27, 2011. The official opening date is scheduled for November 20. Seminar stars Alan Rickman, from the Harry Potter franchise, as Leonard, a legendary author. Leonard holds a class to help teach and provide instruction to four very promising new young authors. The respected writer and teacher quickly evaluate his students and fins some far better than others. His evaluation leaves the students into jealousy and tension between the group starts to surface. The group quickly turns on each other and aligns with each other and turns again. Seminar tickets mark Theresa Rebeck's first new play to the Broadway stage since her 2007 work “Mauritius." The play is being directed by Sam Gold, most known for his credited work on "Circle Mirror Transformation” and “The Aliens,” and will be making his Broadway debut. Alan Rickman appeared on the big stage back in 1987 with the production of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses,” and later in 2002 for the revival of “Private Lives” receiving Tony nominations for both roles. The cast also includes Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Jerry O'Connell and Hettienne Park. Seminar tickets are available at the box office running between $51.50 and $126.50. The Broadway play is produced by Produced by Jeffrey Finn, Jill Furman, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Roy Furman, David Ian, David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas and James Spry. Costume design is handled by Tony nominee David Zinn, lighting design by Ben Stanton with original music and sound design by John Gromada. Seminar is a limited-engagement with the final curtain slated on March 4, 2012. The play provides witty dialogue alongside an interesting theme with many laughs along the way.
