The Book Of Mormon Tickets
The Book Of Mormon tickets is available for all Broadway performances. The new musical is a satire written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone (South Park) and Robert Lopez. Previews had begun at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on February 24, 2011 with an official premier on March 24. The story centers on a couple of Mormon missionaries who venture out into Uganda to spread the word.
Early BeginningsTrey and Matt became good friends while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. The friendship would lead to the creation of the TV series South Park for Comedy Central in 1997. Eventually, the show's success would lead to a film adaptation in 1999 called "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut." In 2004 Trey and Matt would attend a performance of Avenue Q on Broadway. The popular Broadway production included puppets and a score co-written by Lopez. The two South Park creators met Lopez and began scheduling work for a musical based on Mormonism. Immediately leading to the success of The Book Of Mormon tickets being sold on Broadway.
The StoryThe story is about two mismatched missionaries sent into a dangerous section of Uganda, Africa in the present day. Elder Cunningham is an uncertain, portly, infuriating liar while Elder Price is a reverent, passionate, good-looking, pompous and over-confident man. The two men come across people of the region living in appalling conditions and having anger towards God. The people of the native land are ruled by a criminal chieftain. Other missionaries sent to the area have all failed but Price feels he can succeed in their mission. Although the people are not impressed with Price for his outlandish arrogance, he decides to give up. Cunningham quickly takes the initiative mixing what he knows of The Book Of Mormon along with made up stories. The villagers soon trust and believe Cunningham, they become baptized and accept Mormonism. The missionaries realize the importance of helping people through religion may not lay within the truth of religion.
