Many songs sung by The Killers have a British influence. At times the group has also been described as the Best British band with an American origin. Brandon Flowers often admits that many songs sung by the band, have a typical touch of Las Vegas, as the band is based there. The band likes to listen to the post-punk bands of the 80s. They are hard-core fans of David Bowie, Morrissey, Queen, U2, and The Beatles.
The band is famous for their hit singles "Somebody Told Me", "Mr. Brightside" and "When You Were Young". At the outset, The Killers performed at small clubs in Las Vegas, Nevada. But as the band bettered their performance, and improved their range of songs, it started attracting attention from talent bookers, local agents, major label, scouts—and a UK representative for Warner Bros. After hearing the band, the Warner Bros rep took the demo back with him, and showed it to a friend of his who worked at UK Indie label Lizard King. Based on their performance, The Killers were made to sign a contract by the end of the summer and could move to England. It is around this time that the band created the band logo as we see it today.
The band released their album Hot Fuss in 2004 in the UK on London-based Indie record label Lizard King Records. Their first single, "Somebody Told Me," was also released the very same year. The band also tasted success with their singles "Mr. Brightside," which topped the charts in UK when it was released. Another popular song by them is "All These Things That I've Done." However, they reached the pinnacle of success when they were positioned at number three with their re-release of "Somebody Told Me." The Killers' second album, Sam's Town, was released in 2006 in the UK and the USA under Island Universal. The first single from Sam's Town "When You Were Young" made its first appearance on radio stations in late July 2006. Their single, "Bones," was another popular video from the band, and was directed by Tim Burton. The band performed at the 32nd season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 2006. They sang their popular numbers "When You Were Young" and "Bones” to a packed house.Tickets To The Kilelrs
