The stage is set in Polski Theatre in 1939 Warsaw, where a famous stage couple Josef and Maria Tura are working with their theatrical troupe. As the Germans starts invading through their way, the theatre is closed by the censors. The troupe is forced to face desperate times. Then this group of actors is approached by a young bomber pilot who asks for their help to catch a spy. This comical black comedy is a creative interpretation on the World War II era and an inspired tribute to the eternal joys of theatre.

The cast of To Be or Not To Be New York features Peter Benson, Robert Dorfman, Peter Maloney, Steve Kazee, Michael McCarty, Brandon Perler, Kristine Nielsen, David Rasche, Jimmy Smagula, Rocco Sisto and Marina Squerciati. The creative team includes set designer Anna Louizos, costumes designer Gregg Barnes, Howell Binkley with the lights, Darron L. West with the sound and Wendall and Zak with projections.

Nick Whitby’s (playwright) first play, Dirty Dishes, was performed at the Edinburgh festival and later on in more than 20 productions across Europe. Since then he has worked extensively for TV and films in England. He returned to writing plays in 2000 with To the Green Fields Beyond, directed by Sam Mendes at the Donmar, London. Casey Nicholaw (Director) received 2006 Drama Desk, Tony and Outer Critics Circle nominations for his work on The Drowsy Chaperone. He also got 2005 Drama Desk, Tony and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Choreography for Monty Python’s Spamalot.
