Wicked Broadway Show Tickets
Nov. 14th On November 14th, the cast of Chicago's production, raised more than $22,000 dollars. The funds were raised at the shows first cabaret benefit "There's No Place Like Home". The benefit premiered at 7 p.m. at Chicago's Park West Theatre located at 322 W. Armitage Ave. Chicago's production, much like Broadway's, has had record breaking success. More than 300 people attend the benefit, which was hosted by Rondi Reed, who is part of the cast of Wicked, playing the role of Madame Morrible. Gene Weygandt, who plays the wizard, directed the show for the event. The small production featured a variety of acts and musical numbers. Everything from showtune classics to Hip Hop were performed. The night ended with the winners of the silent auction, as well as a live auction of Nicolosi artwork, which raised the money for the benefit and making the night a success. The event drew fans from around the United States for the chance to bid on official memorabilia, including a flying monkey mask and a David Lee Csicsko illustration. The performances by the cast were a "step out" from their work in Wicked, show tunes, comedy sketches and dance routines were performed, including a special performance to the song "New Orleans" by the cult folk rock icon Tom Waits. The special performance was backed by images of the reconstruction work being done by Habitat for Humanity. The Wicked production in Chicago will continue to work with Habitat for Humanity with a strong commitment to the community. Currently the two organizations are in the works to help build a new home in the Chicago area.
