Original Broadway Musical

History :: Now Playing :: Schedule :: Reviews

Said to be “the most complete, and completely satisfying, new musical.” For most, this extravaganza of music and theatrics on Broadway is irresistible. The musical is one of those rare ‘must see’ productions with splendid performances from the cast steeped in talent. The two lead actresses who play the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North have performed in a manner that can be said to be show stopping, to say the least. No wonder, you need to book your tickets on Broadway quite in advance, and no wonder, it is about to complete three and a half years of continuous running. On March 11, 2007, Wicked had completed 1404 performances on the stage of Broadway.

Wicked – the musical opened on Broadway at the Gershwin Theater on October 30, 2003, and celebrates its three and a half years run next month in April. Prior to previewing on Broadway on October 8, 2003, the show opened with a pre-Broadway run at the Curran Theater at San Francisco on May 28, 2003, with the trial run closing on June 29.

The ideal tickets on Broadway at the 1933 seat Gershwin Theater would be for the seats in rows B – M. Mezzanine seating starts above the Row N of the orchestra section, and the first few rows of mezzanine would be good seats, too.
