The Story Of Barry Gordy and Motown Comes To Broadway!

Motown the Musical tickets brings the story of music legend Berry Gordy to the big stage! The true life story of the iconic Motown figure will be stage at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre with previews beginning on March 11, 2013. The musical features music and lyrics from the Motown catalog, while telling Mr. Gordy's autobiographic story throughout. Motown the Musical is a sure hit for fans of the genre, era and music. An official opening night is scheduled for April 14, 2013 and set for an open ended run.

Motown the Musical tickets provide a glimpse into the magical "Gordy" Motown era. The production is staged as "jukebox" musical and revolves around the early year of the genre from Mr. Gordy's point of view. The story takes of around the time of Gordy's relationship with Diana Ross. The Musical begins in 1983 at a celebration for the 25th Anniversary of Motown Records. The story then jumps back in a flashback sequence to a young Barry Gordy hanging out and watching people dance in his Detroit neighborhood. By 1957 Gordy has grown up and perusing his dreams of owning a record label to record the music he loves. He quickly surrounds himself with huge talent of the likes of Marvin Gaye , Smoky Robinson and of course the Supremes and Diana Ross. Lifelong friendship are made and long with some of the most historic moments in music.

Motown the Musical features a book by Baryy Gordy which is based on his 1994 autobiography, "To Be Loved: the Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown." The Broadway production includes and endless number of hit Motown songs from all the huge names that captivate music today including Diana Ross performing " 'I Hear a Symphony,' 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You' and 'You're All I Need to Get By,'.Stevie Wonder, The Supremes ('Buttered Popcorn' 'Where Did Our Love Go'), The Miracles ('Shop Around') and The Jackson Five featuring Michael Jackson. The cast includes Brandon Victor Dixon as Berry Gordy, Valisia LeKae as Diana Ross, Charl Brown as Smokey Robinson and Bryan Terrell Clark as Marvin Gaye

Response from critics has been favorable with most praising the songs and performances. Motown the Musical tickets are now on sale for all performances of this open-need run playing at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre. For fans of Motown music and it's history this is a large Broadway production not to be missed! The show is filled with exciting performances covering a huge part of the Motown catalog and a great story of the man, Barry Gordy, who brought it to the forefront of the American music scene.
